Homelessness is more than the absence of shelter—it is often the visible tip of deeper struggles: aging, illness, disability, broken families, or sudden economic hardship. Many who live on the streets face not only hygiene, medical, and safety challenges, but also the gradual loss of self-worth and the will to rejoin society.
 

In 2024, iST partnered with the Zhu-An Charity Association in Hsinchu, supporting its frontline outreach to the city’s homeless population. By sponsoring daily meal purchases, we aim to provide more than food—we aim to open hearts and rebuild trust.
 

For outreach social workers, each warm meal is a starting point. A hot lunch offered with sincerity helps break down barriers, builds rapport, and leads to meaningful conversations. From there, the Zhu-An team can extend further support: shelter referrals, medical care, ID application assistance, hygiene services, emotional counseling, and job matching. Each step helps individuals regain their dignity, restore purpose, and reintegrate into society.
 

Thanks to this collaboration, a total of 2,828 meals were distributed to homeless individuals in 2024, each one a gesture of care and connection in the heart of the city.
