iST Supports Shih Guang Care Center with Essential Supplies for Frontline Long-Term Care

When daily life cannot be managed alone, dedicated caregivers are there, day after day, making every ordinary moment possible.

For most of us, having a meal, taking a bath, using the restroom, changing into clean clothes, or simply going outside for a walk are ordinary parts of everyday life.

Yet for many residents at Shih Guang Care Center who live with severe or profound disabilities and multiple disabilities, even these simple routines require a helping hand. From feeding and repositioning to personal hygiene and changing diapers, caregivers are there to assist with the everyday things that residents cannot manage on their own.

Recently, Integrated Service Technology Inc. (iST) visited Shih Guang Care Center in Zhudong Township, Hsinchu County, to spend time with its residents and deliver essential supplies for their daily needs.

Shih Guang Care Center provides long-term care for adults aged 18 and above with severe or profound intellectual disabilities and multiple disabilities. Many residents have limited mobility and physical function and rely heavily on caregivers for their daily routines. For the Center, what matters most is often the most practical: everyday necessities that are constantly used and must always be replenished.

917. Let’s Do Good Together. Turning good intentions into help that truly matters in everyday life.

This time, iST responded to the Center’s actual needs by providing adult diapers, disposable underpads and other care supplies, along with rice, cooking oil, salt and everyday food staples. Nothing elaborate, just practical essentials that are used every day and need to be continuously replenished.

Visiting the Center also gave us a more personal understanding of what “care” really looks like.

Here, care is part of everyday life. At mealtimes, someone is there to help residents eat, one bite at a time. When a diaper needs changing, someone takes care of it. When someone has been in bed for an extended period, caregivers help reposition them and assist with gentle movement. These are things that happen every day, and there always needs to be someone who notices, remembers and steps in. For the caregivers at Shih Guang, this is simply how they share each day with the residents in their care.

At iST, we believe support can be just as practical. From essential care supplies used every day to basic food staples on the dining table, providing the right resources where they are needed can bring a little more reassurance and breathing room to the realities of long-term care.

iST will continue to pay attention to the real needs of local social welfare organizations and vulnerable communities, directing resources where they are needed most and helping ease some of the burden carried by those who remain on the front lines of care.
