VALUE CHAIN COMPETITIVENESS

Except for the operating base in an office and factory bu ilding in Neihu, all of our factories are located in Hsinchu where the characteristics of an industrial cluster are evident. The Branding Planning Dept. and the Welfare Committee are currently communicating with local communities, making environmental and social impact assessments, and analyzing risks and opportunities for communities. There were no significant environmental, social, and economic impacts on surrounding communities and factories during the reporting period. We cooperate with the competent authority’s requirements for environmental and safety, and undergo regular management audits by the authority. We actively work to improve our practices to ensure employee safety and minimize the environmental impact of our operations, demonstrating our commitment to sustainability.
In addition, we have not produced potential negative impact on the communities at the places where our operating bases are located. Instead, we have continued cultivating talents for the technology industry and taking care of the students in remote and rural areas by supporting surrounding social welfare organizations and granting scholarships to improve their competitiveness for the future. We also organize relevant social welfare activities in cooperation with the community to promote social harmony, well-being, and community recognition.
Strengthening education in rural areas, collaborating with educational organizations, and narrowing the urban-rural education gap
Education is the key to transforming the future. However, children in rural areas often face difficulties in accessing the same learning opportunities as their urban counterparts due to limited resources. We have long been concerned about issues in rural education, emotional learning, and mental health. Through partnerships with professional educational organizations, we offer a variety of learning resources to help students broaden their perspectives and foster a greater interest in learning. In 2024, we partnered with 202 schools for implementation of education collaboration projects to benefit a total of 625 students.
We work with the “Chemistry On The Go” program to lead students in conducting fun science experiments in resource-scarce areas, allowing them to understand scientific principles through hands-on experience and increase their learning motivation. In addition, we collaborate with institutions to support the Volunteer Program for the Sensory Integration Course for Children with Rare Diseases. Through volunteer companionship and guidance, we help children with special needs undergo sensory integration training to enhance their learning abilities and daily adaptability.
Public welfare activities for public welfare organizations in all corners of the society, embodying the spirit of giving timely assistance to those in need, and contributing to society
iST has consistently cared for public welfare groups in various communities for many years. Through concrete actions, we assist people with disabilities, individuals with self-sufficiency challenges, and senior citizens. We extend our care to environmental protection, regularly organizing beach cleanups to provide support for both people and the land.
In order to foster a culture of volunteer service, we recommend actively encouraging employees to participate in volunteer activities such as social care and ecological conservation. We suggest establishing a “volunteer leave” system to encourage employee engagement in public welfare initiatives. In 2024, iST sponsored 15 social welfare organizations, organized 87 charity sales events, and implemented one beach cleanup project, contributing 550 volunteer hours and benefiting a total of 219 persons.
We help sheltered workshops sell products through charity sales to support disadvantaged groups, enhance their economic independence, and raise public awareness of the efforts of these dedicated workers. In addition, we encourage people with disabilities to cultivate self-reliance and enhance their social participation and sense of identity through farming. We pay attention to the needs of elderly people living alone as the aging society becomes increasingly serious. We participate in the “Shopping with the Elderly” event, where volunteers accompany seniors on outings to buy daily necessities, providing practical assistance and emotional support through companionship.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, the Company launched the fourth beach cleanup initiative, with nearly 100 employees participating enthusiastically to demonstrate their commitment to environmental protection through action. The event attracted not only enthusiastic participation from employees, but also many families who came together with their family members. Guided by adults, children actively participated in the beach cleanup activity, and through a fun and educational parent–child collaboration, their awareness of environmental protection was deepened as they collected coastal waste. iST continues to promote environmental protection initiatives and public welfare campaigns, rallying more social forces to contribute to sustainable efforts and working together to safeguard our clean home.
We work with the “Chemistry On The GO”program and go to rural campuses with limited educational resources to explore the wonders of science
Encourage people with disabilities to engage in agricultural work and invite employees to participate in farm experience activities
Invite disadvantaged groups to sell products in the factory to support partners with disabilities and promote social inclusion
Accompany elderly individuals living alone while shopping, offering emotional support and substantive assistance
iST employees and their families actively participate in the beach cleanup activity
